Our Trip to the OC
The Musubi Map is making it’s way up to Orange County! We want to let everyone know where all the OC “island” hot spots are, so we set up some meetings and visited a few places. In an effort to be as environmentally friendly as possible, we teamed up with Hawaiian Hot Sauce bruddah Steve, who owns Wao Nahele, and carpooled our way up the 5N.
The Wao Nahele truck. Don't tell anyone...but the secret to Steve's truck running so well is he puts in a bottle of his hot sauce everytime he fills up. Don't try this at home.
First stop was to visit Roger (lt) and Teva (rt) at the Hinano Tahiti headquarters. The lines are looking good, so make sure you keep your eye on Hinano when you're shopping about.
Next we stopped by Hula Beach in San Clemente where we were greeted by the lovely ladies in purple.
Hula Beach has a GREAT selection of island fabrics...
..as well as a great selection in floral, furniture, bath and body, tiki bar and patio, etc.
Our last OC stop was to visit San Clemente's new restaurant Hapa J's. This is Chef Aaron serving up the BBQ mix plate.
This is the Local Boy special. Portagee Sausage, Spam Musubi and the coldest Hinano. Only $7, homie.

And what better way to clear you palette than with the "island after dinner mint", the classic Rice Candy that we all grew up eating. Ey, if you don't know what to do with the second wrapper, you better ax somebody!
