Hi Kaitlin,
An absolutely amazing recipe. Really enjoyed it:)) I use my KFC seasoning with added rice flour to make it crispy and then use my wok burner to get it really crispy. Great touch to sprinkle white pepper after frying. Still eating it now but thought it good to let you know just how much we both enjoyed it:)) Thank you

Hi Carol, was the frozen squid raw or already cooked? Best to let it thaw. Usually meat that is cooked straight away from being frozen ends up tough (e.g., chicken, steak, etc.). We typically indulge in fresh squid because we are able to find it and we don’t make squid too often at home! Hope that helps :)

Hi Kath, just proceed without it. There’s really no substitute for cornmeal other than semolina. While this recipe aims to triangulate textures, it’s not strictly necessary to have all three—but is tasty. So you can just leave it out.

Thank you so much, John, you should definitely make the salt and pepper pork chops in the cookbook :-)

Delicious! Charred green and red bell pepper at start of stir fry. Flour combination works great. Wife had with Sriracha mayo dipping sauce.
